Todd - your ability to convey texture is awesome. I can almost feel the scratched and pitted metal of this old key.

Thanks Cara, you're too kind, really. Two days ago I tossed out a painting I was working on because I couldn't quite get the texture to be believable. You win some-lose some I guess. I think part of it is your affection for the subject matter.

The soft shadow is my favorite part of this piece. It gives such a great sense of distance between the key and the wall. The way shadow is portrayed is always so important. Great work.

There's on old urban..nope scratch that...desert myth about a painting that Georgia O'Keefe tossed out while living in Abique, NM. As the story goes a couple rummaging through garbage found it and used it as collateral for a hefty loan at the bank.

If you hurry yours might still be in the dumpster. Ha!
