I have just found your blog... love your work. I have a technical question: what medium do you use? It looks like you use a glazing technique.

Todd,
I always love your boat paintings! Well done!

Wow, thank you everyone for the kind words..shirley,
To answer your question about the glazing technique..I do glaze some parts selectively. Ultimately, my finished pieces are a combo of underpainting, opaque and glazed passages...and sometimes scummbling. I guess I'm saying whatever works. I did a post on my other blog showing my process not too long ago. I plan on doing another when the dust settles. So I think the short answer is yes, there is some glazing in there but it's not exactly a traditionally glazed piece using the master technique of glazing over a grissaile with transparent pigment and glazing medium. I use liquin in the early stages and less as the painting progresses. Hope this helps you understand. If not, I'll be happy to clarify any questions you have.
Thanks for the kind words
All the best,
Todd
