Another beauty Todd! As always, I love the implied narrative and the aged, stained card only adds to that poignancy. Beautiful color harmony too- bravo!

Thanks Deborah, sincerely. That means a lot coming from you. As you know, I'm a huge fan of your incredible landscapes. All the best,
Todd

Wow that is a very powerful image. Love the assimilation you can leap to with the worn card. Is that done on wood or did you paint the wood grain in? Nice work!

Todd Bonita said...

Thanks so much. The wood grain you see is a trompe L'oeil effect, hand painted to look like wood. The surface is wood (masonite) panel but not visible under the gesso and paint.

Extremely well done.

Did you enjoy the celebration last night? Funny, after all these years to be reigning World Champions.
Love it!

Its been a little while since I visited and wow, I've really been missing out! Through the Heart is both fun and powerful; I love the wear on the card. And I've always loved your boat paintings, but being partial to old cars I was so excited to see your Vrooom and Vintage paintings - the aging of the metal is spectacular as is the way you lit the cars. Yummy!
Guess I'd better subscribe so I don't keep missing out :-)
